Holiday Seasons

As the nights start earlier it is easier to remember that the holiday seasons has begun. In generations past people would start to store things to survive the winter months. History recalls the staples needed to survive, but people, subconsciously, recall the need to be entertained. Capitalism has taking a choke hold on this unconscious memory by reminding us of events months in advance causing a frenzy of need & expectations. This causes a lot of stress and a dread of what was always a joyful time. Due to this, people tend to overload the delivery systems that are in place, causing stress & exhaustion onto the workers. This stress adds to the stress of everyone else and thus makes the world a little grayer.

We at UniqReads would like to suggest a new take on an older path to holiday gifting.

1: Drink some water. Keeping hydrated will help prevent one from becoming irritated,

2: Buy local. Find the Small shops near by and support them by finding something unique for your loved ones.

2a: If you must buy online find local small shops closer to where the ones you are buying for live so that it will get to them on time.

3: If you have to have it delivered don’t stress about it arriving by a certain date. Unless it is lifesaving medical supplies or financial support, a day or two later is not an issue.

It is our hope that this holiday season brings less stress and more entertainment to all.

Happy Reading.
